OHINEMURI.
During the past Aveek three out of the ever increasing number of Ohinemuri candidates have, delivered addresses in the Omahu School. The first was Mr Mervyn Stewart, who dealt for the most part with the single ta.x, preferential voting, and the referendum. He, was followed by Mr Deeble, whose speech Was on the same lines as that delivered by him at th Thames. The third, Mr Jackson Palmer, sketched Lis political career, and defended the policy of the present Government. He also announced that instead of having, as in former years, to travel to Hikutaia or Puriri, the settlers would be able, this year to vote at the school. Each candidate received a patient hearing, and was accorded a vote of thanks for his address.—'(Omahu Correspondent.) Mr 13. J. Drumm, labour candidate, addressed the electors last evening in the Criterion Theatre, Paeroa, Mr Cockin the Chair. There wa.s a very fair attendance, and the candidate received a good hearing, afterwards answering a number of questions. On the motion of Mr W. .T. Wilson he was accorded a. vote of thanks by acclamation.
Mr De Bakker on Monday night addressed a meeting at Maratoto, receiving a vote of thanks and confidence.
