MANUKAU.
The electors of Manukau were addressed by Mr W. F. Buckland in St. Mark's Hall, Remuera, last evening. Mr Jas. Russell presided, and the candidate wns attentively listened to. At the conclusion of the address Mr Buckland was accorded a unanimous vote o_ thanks and confidence.
Mr/,W. F. Buckland addressed a large audience at Howick on Monday night. His' speech was very much the same, as those previously delivered. In answCr to questions Mr Buckland said he would leave the liquor laws as at present with the people. He would alter the Civil Service by promotions according to merit. He favoured borrowing openly for railways. A vote of hearty thanks was carired.
