At the. Baptist Union, which hag just finished its session here, the Rev. J. Clark (Auckland) was elected presi-; dent; the Rev. F. W. Boreham, Vicepresident; the Rev.. A. H.. Collins, secretary; Mr S. Chid gey, treasurer; the Revs."Duke, Dedwney,*Datlaston, Norths and Messrs Carson, Driver, and Hobey, committee. The annuity fund for Baptist ministers and missionaries was! adopted. It was resolved to observe the jubilee in 1901 in Nelson, and to secure the attendance of a representative minister from America _£ England. The Assembly adopted rt reso* lution in favour of Bible-reading in schools, and also decided to adept the platform of the Dunedin Church Council to p>?ad for opening the day; Schools with the Lord's Prayer, and reading of Scriptures under the supervision of the teacher with a conscience. Clause. Resolutions on gambling and the drink evil were also adopted. ._
