DEATH OF MRS WALKER.

Mrs Walker, wife of Sergeant Walker, of the Newton police station, died on Saturday last. Mrs Walker leaves a husband and family of 12 to mourn their loss. Mrs Walker'and her husband came to the Thames about 34 years ago, and he was afterwards stationed at Papakura, Mercer, and Otehiihu, and latterly stationed atjNewton. Mrs Walker took great interest in, literary matters, and interested herself in literary societies at the different places at which her husband was stationed, and read papers which she contributed on various subjects. Among her sons are Mr R. C. Walker, 8.A., and Mr C. R. Walker, solicitor, of Coromandel.
