BUDDLE, 76, Victoria Arcade. Auckland. This Company is being formed to ac- ; quire and work mining areas by dredging, and particularly two Special Dredging Claims on the Karamea River, held under applications 39/99 and 40/99, in the Warden's Court, Westport, containing 100 acres (more or less), and comprising two miles of the river with beaches and fiats. The gold in the Karamea is coarse, and can be easily saved by a.dredge; the bottom is soft, blue reef, and can be easily cleaned up. The value of the gold is £4 1/ per ounce. This river is well known as carrying heavy gold; the terraces along its bank have been worked for many miles up the river, and very heavy gold has been won from the river beaches. It is proposed to work the Karamea River with a powerful up-to-date Steam Dredge, estimated to cost about £6000. The result of prospecting operations leave no doubt that handsome returns will be obtained. ■ . . . ■ The property has been thoroughly examined by Mr John Gow (late Inspector of Mines for the New Zealand Government), and his report, and also reports by R A Young, Esq., C.E., and Captain Johnson, are attached. Intending investors are referred to these reports as to the nature and prospects of the claims. Samples washed from the river by Mr John Gow, and showing the heavy nature of the Karamea gold, can be seen at the office of the Secretary. The Vendors ask no cash, but take payment in Paid-up Shares, and, as showing their confidence in the property, they also subscribe for 1000 Contributing Shares. The .cost of prospecting and flotation will be borne by the Company. Applications will be received by Messrs Frater Bros., Fenwick and Anderson, and at the office of Messrs Cooke and Buddie, from any of whom Prospectus and Plan can be obtained.
