COROMANDEL NEWS.
COROMANDEL, Wednesday,
A public meeting in connection with the no-license campaign was held last evening in the Caledonian Hall, being fairly well attended, Mr J. Hunter occupying the chair. Addresses were given by Rev. W. J. Williams, of Auckland, who urged all those present to vote no-license in the cause of humanity and general good. Rev. A. Mitchell and Mr C. Palk also spoke on the subject. The meeting was interspersed with songs and musical selections.
Mr J. Ryan, of Coromandel, lost a valuable foal by drowning this morning. The foal was a handsome colt by Cuirassier from, the mare Maori Girl by Muskapeer.
