The improved return from the N.Z. Crown Mines caused buyers of shares in that company to advance to 12/ to-day on the Exchange. Talismans were also wanted at 12/3, but .sales did not result. May Queen shares were not quite so firmly held, sales being made at 6/5, with a small parcel offered at 6/4, but the best offer, 6/3, was declined. Waitekauris were also offered at 47/0, without buyers quoting. Grace Darlings had steady inquiry at 1/8, and Bunker's Hills at 1/10. Sales were reported of Mount Lyell (Tasmania) shares at £11 4/, and South British Insurance at £2 14/6 the latter being still wanted lit the 'same rate. Other standard stocks allowed no change, with the exception that 20/4 was offered for -N.Z. air.l River Plate.
