JUDGMENT FOR "£7225 AND COSTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. What threatened to be a three days' action, involving- the calling of the best expert witnesses, was called at the Supreme Court this morning-, when Mr Justice Williams took his seat to try the ease of the North Queensland Insurance Company against the ownof the s.s. Wakatipu, the claim being on account. of the cargo _of the sunken barque Laira. i Messrs Hosking and Solomon i appeared for plain tiffs, and Mr Chapman for the Union S.S. Co. Mr Hosking intimated that the case had been settled, defendants at the last moment accepting an offer made to them that plaintiffs have judgment for £.2-5, with interest at 6 per cent from April 2nd, 180S, subject »to a question as to £100, or thereabouts, which was left to Mr Thornhill Cooper, an average j stater, the judgment to carry taxed I costs on the Admiralty scale.
