KAURI GUM MARKET.
AUCKLAND, Wednesday
Prices of gum this week show no alteration. A little buying is going on, the demand being- mostly for better grade gum. Buyers generally, speaking are not anxious to operate at present owing to lack of facilities for shipping. The next vessel for New York direct cannot be here before October. About 45 tons of gum were, despatched to Sydney this week by the Elingamite. Supplies of all grades. of gum for the month of August total 702 tons, and for the six days of September 177 tons. The quantity of gum sent in is falling off, and lhis week a number of Amstrians left the colony. Trices remain as follows: — Poor ordinary £33 to £4:2 Fair ordinary £45 to £50 Good ordinary £52 to £62 Superior ordinary £70 to £ 80 East Coast £73 to £75 Keserap.ed £ "0 up Weak rcscraped £85 to £ 100
