NEW GUINEA.
' MELBOURNE, this day. Mr Lehunte, Governor of New Guinea, had a conference with Sir George Turner, Premier of Victoria, respecting the future of New Guinea. 'He submitted the decision of the previous Conference held in Sydney, in ■which Sir George Turner concurred. It is understood that an agreementwas come to which, while aiming at tne development and settlement of territory, will prevent a repetition of the land grab incident. When federation Is accomplished probably the Federal jlovernment will take over the question of Australia's share in the maintenance of New Guinea. The decisions arrived at will be forwarded to the Imperial Government.
