THE SHAREMARKET.
To-day a transaction took place in N.Z. Insurance at 62/ (ex div.). There
were buyers of Standard at 13/4. National Banks were wanted at 51/6, and Auckland Gas (old issue) at £ 13. Northern Steamship were asked for at 7/6, and 3/3 was offered for Hikurangi coal, and 19/6 for Taupiri, with no quoted sellers under 21/. In Thames mining stocks 6/6 was on offer for May Queen Ha\iraki, and 1/5 could be had for Kuranui-Caledonian. Victoria and New Alburnia were wanted at yesterday's rates. In Upper Thames mines N.Z. Talismans were asked for at 13/3, with sellers at 14/. Waihi were offered for sale at £8 5/, Waihi-Silv.erton at 12/6, Waitekauri at 50/, and Woodstock at 8/6, with no buyers. In Coromandel stocks Bunker's Hill at 2/7 and Four-in-Hand at 2/6 were in request. For Tokatea Consols 3d was offered. Barrier Reefs (issued at 18/6) were wanted at 4/3, with sellers 5/2. For_Whangamata 5/9 was offered.
