SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING,

At a meeting of the Waiotahi School Committee, a report was read from the Board of Education in reference to altering the Waiotahi school building, and making it suitable for children up to the third standard only, and also suggesting that other alterations be effected. After considerable discussion, the following resolution was carried: —"That this committee, while not satisfied with the architect's pror, pos.als in regard to the Waiotahi school, accept, them in order, to terminate a cause of dissatisfaction of. long standing." It was also resolved that the committee should meet the Kauaeranga committee for the purpose of discussing the following resolution: —"That as scholarships' are gained in a standard not taught in the primary schools, this committee considers that children attending the schools under its charge are not placed in a fair position to get the advantages accruing from suob scholarships."
