Grafton 11. v. North Shore ll.—This match, played at Devonport, was an easy win for North Shore by 5 goals to nil. The Shore players showed much more combination than usual, hence their score, as Grafton, although playing two men short, put a heavy team in the field. Goals were scored by Johnston (3), Hall (1) and Buddie (1).

Falcon v. V.M.C.A. "B".—This fixture, played in the Domain, resulted in an easy win for Falcons by ten goals to nil. As was anticipated, the game was very one-sided, the superior combination and form of the Falcons being altogether too much for their opponents, though the Y.M., especially the forwards, played a determined game from start to finish. Owing to the greasy state of the field and ball there was not a great deal of. really brilliant play. For the losers Hellaby and King were about the best, while, for the winners every man was "one of the best." V.M.C.A. "A" v. United 11. — This match waa # 9 ; very good one, resulting in a win for the latter tea-m by 5 to 2, The rain made the ground very slippery, and consequently the ball was greasy and heavy and hard to "place." The play was-very even before the spell. Baddily, Fox, Cousins, and Milner all played well for the forwards (Fox and Baddily passed better than i before), while Slyfield, Cowan and Cbeal worked well and hard among the backs, stopping some good rushes by the opponents' forwards. After the spell the V.M.C.A. backs seemed to af 11 off considerably, and the United forwards carried everything before them, beating the goal-keeper (Cheal) i who did not have quite enough support, though, he played a sterling game.
