NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE.

Mr H. C. Cameron, in a report from London, dated May 4, says .-—"The colonial butter season may fairly be considered- to be ended. It has been on the whole a good year for prices, which have ruled about one penny per lb throughout higher than they did last year. The quality of New Zealand butter has maintained its reputation as b<?ing satisfactory, and very few complaints have been heard regarding it. The year must also have proved satisfactory to all who are interested in the cheese trade in New Zealand. He says the fraud of selling mutton from River Plate as 'Canterbury' still continues as common as ever, and he would have liked to lay an information in one case, but would have had great difficulty in proving the charge. New Zealand meat should have a neat brand applied to it, that would be the distinguishing feature of it, and would be a guarantee to consumers of what was being supplied."
