LYCEUM DRAMATIC CO.
The. second performance of the dramatised version of Marcus Clark's novel, ''For the Term of His Natural Life," by the Lyceum Dramatic Company, attracted a good audience to the Opera House last evening1. Mr Walter Dalgleish, as Richard Devine, alias Rufus Dawes, the convict hero of the piece, again won the sympathies of the audience. . The part of Captain Freere, the villain, was capably filled by Mr D. L. Dalziel, and Mr J. Lambert, as Rev. Meikin, caused a great deal of amusement. Miss Annie Brandt, as Sarah Rex, played her part very well indeed; also Mr Knight as the Rev. Mr North. The other parts were all well taken, and the piece ran very smoothly. It will be repeated to-night, and will be replaced by the five-act drama "Life for Life."
