LYCEUM DRAMATIC CO.

The Lyceum Dramatic Company gave their opening performance last night in the Opera Jlouse before it large audience. A dramatised version of the well-known novel of the Australian author Marcus Clarke entitled

"For the Term of Ilia Natural Life" was presented. The play is of: the "blood and thunder" order, and it was adapted by Messrs Walter Dalgleish and Henry Wenhvorfh, two iending' members of the company. Hill, who sang ''Botany Bay." The scene of the convict ship Malabar and the blowing- up, together with the return of Dawe.s as a beggar, were nil very effective.
