SYDNEY, July 5
New Caledonian news states that a : petition from Vila, in the X«v Hebrides, was presented to the New Caledonia Assembly, asking lor the annn.vution. of the New lie bride;-! to France. During; the discussion one member suggested that YVallis Island should lie [given in exchange for the New Hebrides. He was cried down, and accused iof disloyally to bis country. The meet■- ■ ing- ended without action.
