A Birkdale meteorologist, during the storm of Saturday, June 10, registered 1 inch of rain in one hour, equal to 100 tons per acre. Two inches were registered before the storm was over. During the five days ending the following Thursday no less than 4 inches of rain fell, equal to 400 tons per acre. It is not to be wondered at that some strawberry patches were shifted.
