WORLD'S CHESS TOURNAMENT.
LONDON, June 20,
The.first round of the International Masters' Chess tournament in London resulted: Lasker (champion of the world), 11 wins; Maroczy (Hungarian), 10; Pillsbury (Ainericen), Schlechter and Janowski (Frenchmen), 9J each; Blackburne (Englishman), 64; Tschigorin (Russian) and Cohn, 8 each; Steinitz (the former champion) and Showalter (American), 6£ each. Marshall (a Brooklyn player) won the single round of the tournament open to other masters and leading amateurs with 8£ wins.
