The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 387, against 350 in April, an increase 0f37. The deaths hi May were 200, an increase of 22 on the number in April. Of the total deaths, males contributed 112, females 88. Eighty-two of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 41 per cent, of the whole number. Sixty of these were under one year.
