The annual meeting of the Awhitu ratepayers was held in the Board's office on May 2nd, when there was a good few ratepayers present. After the annual report was read, the clerk gave his statement of accounts for the year, which showed a credit balance of £10 or thereabout; also a balance of £85 to credit from Government grant, to be expended on a new road leading from the Orua Bay road across country to the wharf road, as soon as the survey is approved of by the chief engineer. The accounts were passed subject to the Government audit. A vote of thanks was passed to the Road oßard for the good work done for the 12 months.
