SHAREMARKET.
May Queen shares eased a little yesterday afternoon, but buying was renewed this morning, with the result that sales took place at 6/4 and C/ 6, with still a demand at the latter figure. Alpha shares were wanted at 2/10, and Grace Darling buyers advanced to 1/, with no sellers quoted. Talismans were firm to-day owing to the excellent crushing return, holders asking 15/6, while buyers offered 14/10. Ohinemuri Syndicate shares were still wanted at 2/4, and Waitekauris at 38/. Buyers also came- in for Whangamatn Gold Corporation shares at 3/6, but holders asked 4/3. In standard stocks there was better enquiry to-day for insurance, but no sales were made at the rates offered.
