Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' report.—At the Haymarket auction meadow hay was from 1/6 to 3/, oaten sheaves 1/6 to "2/3 cwt, straw 16/ to 2-1/ load, chaff £2 to £2 7/6, brail £3 10/, bonedust £6 10/, guano £3 10/ ton, oats 1/7 to 1/11, barley 1/, maize 2/10, cocksfoot 6/6, ryegrass 3/6 to 4/ bushel, maize on wharf 2/8 bushel. On Tuesday hides were at'late values. Ox hides from 33d to s!id, cow hides 3Jd to 4d, calfskins 3id lb, tails 1/7 dozen, fat Id to l.d lb, tallow 12/6 to 16/ cwt, sheep pelts 1/5 to ■ 2/3, woolled skins 3/9, lamb skins 1/ to 1/S each, wool 3id to 3:Jd lb. At the special-sale held at Mr Pullings on Saturday good prices were obtained. The dairy cows brought from £4 to '£6 5/, unbroken colts £8 to £10 each On Wednesday at the Haymarket, consequent on the wet day dairy cows and store cattle were scarcely represented. Fat calves in full supply," many of large size, sold freely, the greater numbers bringing from £1 to £1 12/ each. Fat cattle in full numbers were required. Kindly steers were mostly from 16/ to IS/ the 1001b; a few pens exceeded this quotation. Cows at late values. Steers were from £4 5/ to £8 10/, cows £3 to £6 6/ each. Fat sheep in average number, were at late values. Wethers were from 7/9 to 11/9, ewes 7/9 to 9/6 each, store wethers 5/6, aged ewes 3/6 to 5/6 each, fat lambs in short supply were better worth, and ranged from 7/6 to 11/, store lambs from 1/6 to 4/ each, Pigs in moderate number were at late values. Porkers were from 16/ to £1 13/, the sows advertised from £1 6/ to £1 19/ each. The Loan and Mercantile Agency report: We had a good catalogue to submit at our usual sale on Tuesday, when prices for hides were a shade easier, but for skins rates ruled firm. Hides: We sold stout ox from 5d to sgd, medium 4Jd to 4ijd, light 32d to 4d, cow 3gd to 3ld, picked to 4*d, calf 3d to 33d, kip 3id to 3^d. Sheepskins: Salted 1/3 to 2/5, dry 1/ to 3/ each. Tails 1/8 dozen. Tallow 13/3 to 16/6 cwt. Maize: Good sized shipments were again received this week, and the current rate is 2/7 on wharf, with a weakening tendency. Oats: No alteration from last week's quotation of 1/9 on wharf. Chaff is selling at £2 ton at rail.
