PARNELL MUSICAL SOCIETY.
Members of the above Society held their annual meeting- in the Oddfellows' Hall, Manukau Eoad, on Friday night, Mr G. F. Colgrove presided. The secretary, Mr E. W. G. Eathbone, submitted the annual report, which congratulated the Society upon the success achieved during the past year. It suggested there should be a ladies' committee in addition to the executive. Thanks were accorded Mr Leslie Hunt for honoraryservices as conductor, and Mrs Scaly for honorary services as accompanist. Mr Hunt, in replying, complimented the members upon the work of the past year, and also thanked them for the presentation of a salver recently made to him. The following- officers were elected:—President, Mr. A. W. Thompson (l-e-elected); vice-presi-dents, Eevs. G. Mac Murray, •A. Mitchell, Father Kehoe, and H. Kelly, Messrs Tewsley, Young-husband, L. Blomfield, Wood, H. Bloomfield, H. Campbell, and E. W. G. Eathbone; executive committee, Messrs W. E. Holmes (treasurer , E. B. Scaly (secretary), Upfi], Nicliol, and Brook, and Mesdarnes Kilgour and May; ladies' committee, Mesdames Kilgour, May, Goodhue, Kissling, Nichol, Tewsley, Steele, Coleg-rove, and Hunt, and Misses O'Neil, Mowbray, and Simpson. Hearty votes of thanks, carried by acclamation, were recorded to the retiring secretary (Mr E. W. G. Eathbone), and to the retiring1 treasurer (Mr H. Gilfillan, jun.),
