THE SHAREMARKET.
Mining stocks continue to firm in price on the Exchange. To-day JO/0 was offered for Crowns, and privately sales were made at a slight advance. Transactions were reported in May Queens at ">/'.), with further buyers at .">/<'. Alphas improved in price, buyers offering 3/4 to-day. Komatti Reel's were in demand at .'!/, and enquiries were made to-day for Ohineniuri Syndicates at I/I!, and Grace Darlings at Bid. Sales were made of Waihi Extendeds at ad, and more could have been placed at the same rate. The excellent returns from the Waitekanri Company caused those shares to have demand, at .'iO/li, but sellers asked 40/. Woodstock** maintained the advance, being wanted at 8/0. Hunker's Mills had steady buyei's at :.'/•!, and Great Harriers at .'.78. but those prices were not accepted. In Standard stocks bank and insurance were neglected, but shipping and coal shares had steady demand at yesterday's rates.
