Two temperance meetings were held yesterday in the Presbyterian Church, Onehunga, addresses being given by Airs Harrison Lee, the Victorian Temperance Advocate. In the afternoon an address was given to the ladies, and in the evening another meeting was held, presided over by the Rev. R. Wylie, when Mrs Lee gave a most eloquent and forcible address, the subject being 'Who is on the Lord's Side?' in which she showed that many of the most eminent men of the age were strong advocates of total abstinence. She also dealt at some length with the question of State Prohibition in. New Zealand, combating a number of the objections generally brought forward by its opponents. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to her at the close. __ .- ,^_^Jsi.A_^
