LADY GORE BROWN.

Sir,—l observe by a Tasmanian paper that a very hearty welcome was given to Lady T. Gore Brown (the widow of our late' Governor), who when in New Zealand endeared herself to all classes of the community by her gentle, lady-like courtesy to all and her noble and generous actions in all attempts for the betterment of the society of which she was the head. Should she visit Auckland it would he a fitting thing to repeat the welcome here Ladies, take the hii)t.-I am, etc., CIVIS.
