The Alarquis of Lome has written a short English poem entitled 'Australia Federa.'
MELBOURNE, February 3
In reply to the English Govern* ment's congratulations on the result of the Federal Conference, Lord Brassey, at the request of the Premiers, has expressed to Air Chamberlain their high appreciation of the Government's congratulations.

Air Reid will lose no time in placing the Federal Bill before the public. Probably the referendum will be taken in Alareh.
MELBOURNE, this day.
The 'Age' says the amendments made by the Premiers in the Federal Bill are for the most part an advance in a liberal direction.
