DISTRICT GRAND LODGE OF

DRUIDS,

The annual meeting of the District Grand Lodge of Druids was commenced this morning at the Alexandrastreet Schoolroom. President Bro. Purnell presided. The following were present:—Board of Management: J. Purnell, D.G.F. (Bishop Lodge); A. R. Thompson, V.D.G.R. (Blenheim Mistletoe , J. McKenna, D.G.G. (Star of Egmont), G. Snadden, P.D.G.P. (Pacific), R. Fletcher, D.G.T. (Pacific), Jas. Mackay, D.G.S. Delegates: H. J. Wynyard, P.S. (Poneke), J. Harvey, P.S. (Pohaptanui),, G. Stafford, P.A. (Morgan), McHugh (Priae of Waihi), Canton (Oroua), Nutting (Turanganui), McKenna (Patea), Browne (Blenheim Mistletoe), Stevens (Pacific), McLeod (Bishop), G. Peace (Auckland), W. Blomficld (Ponsonby), Hardy (Moturoa), Levick. (Totara), E. Fouden (Hawera), B. R, Gardiner Jaorowhenua).

Correspondence in reference to the fund due to the Grand Lodge from the Grand Lodge of Victoria was read, also opinions from solicitors. It was stated that a compromise had been effected, and that £119 was still due. The action of the Executive in the matter was confirmed. A letter from Auckland Lodge re Ballin funeral clai mwas considered. The President stated the Executive had decided to pay the £20, but they would not impose the death levy. The action of the Executive was confirmed and Bro. Michaels (Auckland Lodge) thanked the Executive for their decision.

A letter from the Registrar of Friendly Societies re the forming of Women's Lodges was considered and evoked a long discussion.

A sum of £2 2/ was voted to the Grey Memorial Committee.

The report of the Board of Management was read. The President regretted no new lodges had been formed during the past year. The report was adopted, also the balance-sheet.

The following nomination of officers were made: Bro. A. R. Thompson, D.G.P.; Bro. J. McKenna, Vice D.G.P.; Bro. Gardiner, D.G.C.; 'Bro. R. T. Michaels, D.G.G.; Bro. R. Mackav, D.G.S.; Bro. R. Fletcher, D.G.S.; Bros. Wynyard, Stevens, Pullen, auditors.
