i Owing to the postponement of the Dunte season, Mr Pollard has been tumbled tc secure the Opera House ffto t a farewell season of nine nights, commencing on Monday next. The open. . ing attraction will be the merry , musical comedy 'A Gaiety Girl.' This .1 is the latest addition 1o the Pollard. ! repertoire, and will be staged here on I Monday night for the first time. Those who have any doubts as to the i success of a first performance can rest assured that with this company a first performance is just as perj'tct us the fiftieth. The cast of 'A Gaiety : Girl' is an exceptionally long one, and ' taxes the resources of even the largest company. On Monday night M Pollard will introduce several aspirants for footlight favours, who have hitherto been seen either in the chorus or speaking' 'one line' parts. It has always been Mr Pollard's boast;; that, 'no matter who leaves, or whois ill. there is always a competent substitute,' and to prove that boast not an idle one, he will present to our notice on Monday night several mem- : bers of his company who have, to use. the 'Paul Jones' gag, been 'keepingV dark on the weather bow.' 'A Gaiety ; Girl' will be staged for four nights i only, and will be replaced on Friday ; night by 'The Gay 1 arisienne.' On Saturday afternoon, Saturday nighty and Monday, Mr Pollard's musical version of 'Uncle Tom's Cabin' will be produced. Ori Tuesday the attraction if will be Yon Suppe's celebrated comic ■ opera 'Fatinitza,' and on Wednesday; the season will terminate with Aud-V ran's ever popular work 'La Mascotte, 1 in which Miss May Beatty will be seen as the merry turkey herd 'Bettina,' and Mr Charles Carter will undertake the role of Prince Frittelini. 1 ,
