HOUSEHOLD HINTS.

Here is an ingenious device in bundle wrapping which is too useful to be denied to the world at large. It emanated from the brain of a clever young woman who conducts a large mail order business and protects her from many petty losses. Every woman who has struggled with the unruly string of the ordinary tied post parcel and lived in nervous dread until safe arrival was. acknowledged will thoroughly appreciate its double qtiality of simplicity and security, and experience a very enjoyable serenity of mind. It is this: Cut your wrapping paper large enough to extend an inch beyond each end of the goods to be sent, and roll it in with them' for two or three turns, just as a periodical is wrapped for posting, rolling the remainder around the goods in the usual way. Then, taking an upholsterer's needle—an ordinary darning needle' will also answer the purpose—threaded with strong smooth cord, sew through the ends of the wrapping paper. The two sides of the parcel will then be crossed by the cord. The two ends of the cord are then interlocked in the manner customary at turnings, wrapped two or three times around the parcel and tied.
