ACCIDENT TO A LAUNCH.

. The Tairua River launch, when conveying- the Waitangi's cargo.to the upper landing stores, struck a snag, immediately below,Mr Layeock's landing, and sank. The goods were partlydamaged and were secured under difficulties by means of punts. The launch was in charge of Walter Bell and young Meyenberg. It has since been'ascertained that there is a Tiole in the bottom of the launch, which is not vet floated.

A man named William Climo met with a painful accident at the Tara.ru Creek Battery yesterday afternoon. He was carrying a pan of amalgam when he slipped and fell. The pun, falling on his chest, broke two ribs. Climo also received several bruises.
