A Maori named Nuku Tteihann, of Mahinapua, near Wh.angaroa, storekeeper, has filed a petition to be adjudged a bankrupt. In a sworn statement made to the Official Assignee he stated that he had carried on business on his own account at Tnraire for the last three years. He also dealt in gum. He had no capital to start with but Mr Dayson, of Kaeo, supplied him with money to buy gum, and also supplied him with goods for the store. His liabilities amount lo £109 10/11, and assets £17.
