THE OPERA HOUSE.

Another large audience was present at the Opera House last night, when the Harry Kiekards Company 'repeated their clever variety entertainment. Some new items were introduced. JVlr Kiekards sang with acceptance the comic song- 'Close,' and ho also gave a coster impersonation, 'Our Little Nipper' in natural style. As usual Signor Eiondi made a great 'hit' with his clever comedy sketch and impersonation or celebrated composers. The songs of Mr Hamilton Hill and Miss Clara Llewellyn were also much enjoyed. A pathetic little drama, 'Blind Love,' was also produced. This piece was written, especially for Miss Noni Rickards by that rising young Australian dramatist Bernard Espinasse. Miss Noni Rickards as the blind girl Dea created an excellent impression, playir>,<? the difficult part with subdued feeling and pathos. We should like to see this promising young- actress in a more important and prominent part. Miss Katie Rickards as Helena Vernon gave a very refined idea of her role, and , Miss Madge Rickards played with a very naive abandon. Mr Albert Bellman as Mr Fearless, and Mr Hamilton Hill as his son Richard, gave an excellent account of themselves. The drama will be re- | pea-ted to-night, and for to-morrow, being the last night of the season a specially attractive programme has been prepared. A matinee performance will be given to-morrow afternoon, at which children will be admitted at sixpence to all parts of the house.
