POLLARD OPERA COMPANY.
'THE* FRENCH MAID.'
'Standing room only' was again the rule at the Opera House last evening, when the Pollard Opera 'Company gave the second ijerformanee of 'The French Maid.' To say that the audience were delighted with the production is to give but mild expression to the enthusiasm created by this sparkling . musical ; coriiedy. Mr Harry Quealy's remarkable impersonation of the Waiter was again-the success of the evening, and the clever artist kept, the audience in uncontrollable merriment whenever he held the stage. They, would have . taken as many verses of 'I 'Appened to be There' as he cared to give them, and his other songs were also vociferously encored. Miss '.Campion too had a very hearty reception, winning much applause for •'Only a Penny' and 'What Did He Take Me For.' The singing and dancing and the stage accessories were all in keeping with the general excellence of the performance. 'The French Maid' has evidently .eritered upori a reign of unmistakeable popularity.
