-To-night the Living- Chess Tonrnn-; ment will be repeated by special re- \ quest, numbers having' been unable to attend the first performance. The ! tournament is held in the Choral Hall. ' and new dances and lig'httng effects are promised. Two performances will be given during the evening', as the living chews cannot be repeated at a j future date. Mr V. K. liiee will give an | organ recital on the Exhibition organ ; to-morrow afternoon, while for the evening the attraction will be a dis- • play on the sports-groimd by seamen j and marines from 11.M.5. Tauranga i and Koyalist. Miss Elsie Stanley Hall, ; 'the celebrated Australian pianiste,! will make her first appearance in this '■ oily next Thursday evening, having been engaged by the Executive to give, a pianoforte recital. ~S\r .John Proviso will contribute songs. Felieien David's .symphonic ode. 'The Desert' will be produced o'l Friday evening by the combined Orchestral Union and Liedertafel.
