NORTH SHORE NATIVE REGATTA.
Last evening a meeting of the committee of the North Shore Native Regatta and Aquatic Carnival, w-hich commences on Monday next, was held in the Devonport Borough Council Chambers, Mr A. Alison presiding.
It was decided that the following corrections be made in the programme as published:—That a prize of £5, instead of £10, be offered to the winners of the tug-Of-wrar between Maoris and the New' Zealand Native team; and that the prizes in the open handicap yacht race be £20, £10, £G, and £4. At the request of the North Shore Rowing Club, it was decided to place gig rowing races on the programme. It was resolved that a race for maiden oarsmen in clinker Outrigger gigs, open to any amateur rowing club, be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, for trophies to the value of £5; and that a gig race for the North Shore Rowing Club only, for trophies to the value of £2 10/ be held at 5.30 p.m. the same day.
Arrangements wore decided on for a steamer to follow the Championship Race each day, and for the s.s. Planet to act as a patrol steamer and keep the course clear.
