A. ffum digger named William Slater. about 57 years of age, was found dead in his whare yesterday. He was last seen alive the evening before, when he appeared in his usual good health. Four constables were despatched from Auckland to-day in the police boat to brin"- the body to town for the purnose^of holding- an inquest. This will take place at Gleeson's Hotel to-mor-row morning. Great display of straw hats at Geo. Fowlds' Come and see them. Motto, var'ety and value.—(Advt.) healthful summer beverage. .
