The quarterly meeting of the N.Z. Educational Institute takes place tomorrow at ihe Wellesley-street school. Sir Robert Stout arrived from "Wellington by the. s.s. Takapuna this afternoon. He goes on to Rotorua tor a holiday. - At the Police Court this morning, before Mr T. Hutchison, S.M., Hugh Storey and Thos. Kennedy were found o-uiltv of stealing £2 2s Od, the property of .lames Nicholls, and were sentenced to three months' and one month's bard labour respectively. William Norton was fined 5s or twentyfour hours, for drunkenness, aud five first offending- 'drunks' were cautioned and discharged. A man named George Cowan was found guilty of being nn idle and disorderly person on the evidence of Detectives Herbert, Maddern and McMahon, and was sent to o-aol for three months.
