AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co's, Ltd., Market Report:—We offered a large catalogue at our weekly sale on Tuesday. Hides: Prime stout ox s*d to Gd, heavy stout 4^d to sid, light and medium 33d to 4id; cow 3Jd to 3iid, kip 3d to 3Jd, calf 31d- to 4}d.Sheepskins: Extra large 4/6 to 5/3, country dry equal to 3S& to 43d per lb. Tallow; Only medium lines offered, which sold at 12/9, to 13/9 per "cwt. Horse hair: Tail 1/' to 1/4, mane 6d to Sd per lb. Cow hair: 8d to lOd per lb, tails 1/4 per doz. Maize: Last week's quotations of 2/10 on wharf still hold good. the demand from Sydney continuing* We would strongly advise growers to send forward all they can, as this out-» side demand may not last long, and prices may then fall. Oats: No shipments to hand this week. Lines are selling ex tha store 2/4* to 2/5, but a small shipment to arrive this week we can offer at 2/2 lo 2/2J f.o.b. at Auckland for 'C and '&.'■ grades. Chaff: Very slow of sale, the highest price obtainable being £4 at rail.
Messrs Buckland and Sons' report:— At the Haymarket straw brought from, 13/ to £1 4/ load. Ex store Chesterfield, guano £3 10/, Biggs' Bunyarra bonedust £6 10/, chaff £4 15/, bran £4 10/, oats 2/A and 2/5, maize 3/ bushel, maize on wharfi 2/10 bushel. On Friday horse stock wero yarded numerously, principally of a light and medium class. Riding horses brought up to £15, heavy draught £28, medium draught £8 to £14, buggy £14, spring cart £5 respectively. On Tuesday a short supply both of hides and skins were without alteration in values. At Pokeno on Monday a larger muster of cattle than usual met a fair, demand at late values. Fat cows up to £4 10/, springers £4 5/, calves 13/ to 18/ each. At Runciman on Wednesday grown steers were in demand at full values, and ranged from £4 to £4 15/ f- --, each, yearlings neglected at lower values, dairy cows required and brought from £3 10/ to £6 each. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cows, yarded numerously, were* at late values; those at profit were from £3 5/ to £6 each. Store cattle sold freely; dry cows up to £2 15/ each. Young and fat calves, numerous, were at lower values: medium sized from 6/ to 12/ each; heavy calves up to £1 3/. Fat cattle ire usual number; 219 yarded. Steers better worth than last week, were from 16/ to 17/ 1001b. Throughout the sale steers brought from £5 5/ to £8 7/6 each, cows'. 5' to £5 12/6. Fat sheep in moderate. numbers; 750 sold. Wethers slightly better worth, were from 8/ to 11/ each; ewes at last week's values from 5/9 to 8/. Lambs, also in moderate number, 270 sold, mostly brought from 7/ to 11/6 each; 229 store sheep brought from 3/ to6/each.Pigs of all classes abundant; 170 sold. Store pigs from 3/ to 14/ each, porkers from 16/ to ■£1 S/. .
