PONSONBY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
At a meeting of the Committee held at Church-street school last evening the following resolutions* were passed :—That it be an instruction to the headmaster of the Church-street school in view of the crowded state of the school that until the school is enlarged no children over school age be admitted from this date without special leave of the Committee. That in view of the insanitary condition of the infant department of the Church-street school this Committee would seriously reciuest that the department be removed to the new land acquired by the Board, in Ponsonby Terrace, and that at the same time the accommodation in this department be enlarged to meet the urgent need of the district. The following notice ot motion was given:—"That this Committee take into its consideration the question of establishing a Seventh Standard in the central school of the district."
