THE SHAREMARKET.
The market closed with fair demand for many mining stocks, and in some instances better prices were offered. May Queens sold as nigh as os 6d, and were still wanted at that rate. Alphas had transactions at 2s 3d, with further buyers at2s 2d. Mahara Royals .were enquired for at 2s 7d, and Talisman and Woodstocks each at Bs. An enquiry also set in for Grace Darlings and Portseas, but no sales were reported. Standard stocks generally had good demand at late rates, but no sales were reported at the prices offered. Buyers came in. to-day for Standard Insurance at 11s 9d.
