AUCKLAND AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the Show and Finance Committee of .the Auckland Agricultural Association was held this afternoon, Mr VV. Westney (President) presiding. The annual donation of £10 to the prize-list of the Waikato Agricultural Association was granted. It was agreed to intimate to kindred societies that the Indian Government would be prepared to pay an average of £45 for Australian cavalry remounts. The secretary of the Auckland Exhibition asked that the date for the opening of the Association's next show be delayed for one week after the opening of the Exhibition on December 1. Members of the Committee pointed out that breeders of sheep were opposed to postponing the date of the show.- It was agreed to reply that the date fixed could not be altered. In reference to a letter that all associations outside of the province of Canterbury should donate a sum of money to the Canterbury Association for the purpose of establishing a prize to be called 'The Conference. Prize' it was agreed to reply that the Association was not at present prepared to entertain the proposal.. It was agreed that the Association should bo represented at the forthcoming' Auckland Exhibition with an exhibit and it was agreed to apply for space. A maize or wool trophy was mentioned as a suitable exhibit.1' It was also agreed that other societies be asked to co-operate with the Auckland Association in the matter. Messrs Westney, Kirkbride and Gardener were appointed to allocate the special prizes in the various classes at the forthcoming show. Alterations to prizeschedule in sheep, cattle and dairy produce sections recommended by subcommittees were considered; also alterations recommended in light horse, draught horse and sheep sections.
