Be has since resided at his country siat.- In the earlier months of his retirement considerable friction existed .between him and the Emperor, bnt in 1893, when the Prince fell seriously ill the Emperor sent him a telegram of sympathy and offered him the use of one of his castles to assist in lis convalescence.. This offer the Prince gratefully declined; but the exchange-of. courtesies between him and the Emperor served to make manifest the very evident desire of the German people for a reconciliation, and this desire was gratified in 1594, when the Prince and the Emperor exchanged Tisits.]
