THE NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY COMPANY'S REPORT. We offered a large catalogue at our weekly sale last Tuesday. All good hides were well competed for, but faulty lots were neglected. Hides—We sold prime stout ox 5J3 to 6d, heavy stout 4Ad to sd, medium 3Jd to 4\d, light 3}d to 3_id, scored and cut Id to id less, cow, best, 3gd to 31d, kip and calf 3Jd to 4d, stags ljd to 2id. Sheepskins—Large 3/9 to 4/2, small and medium 2/6 to 3/6. Tallow—Best rendered 15/ to 15/6 per cwt. Horsehair—lOd to 1/ per lb. Oats—Shipments to hand this week are very heavy and. sales are. reported ex sailer, as low as 2/4 c.i.f, for B grade; however, the market seems steady now, and we think will shortly take a 'turn for the better. Maize—Very little to hand this week, and the market has risen 2d per bushel, present price being 2/6 on the wharf. Chaff is selling at £4 5/ per ton at the railway. MESSRS ALFRED BUCKLAND AND SONS' REPORT.. At the . Haymarket, fodder was at lower values. Meadow hay 3/ to 3/6, oaten sheaves 4/3, Sydney lucerne 4/6, pressed meadow hay 5/, bran 4/3, wheaten straw chaff 3/, oaten chaff 4/9, Chesterfield guano 3/6, bonedust 6/ and 6/6, blood and bone manure 4/6 cwt, straw 12/ to 17/ load, carrots £1 10/, potatoes £6 to £7 10/ ton, maize 2/9, dun oats 3/ to 3/4, feed oats 2/10 bushel. On Friday the wet day prevented tho usual muster of horses. Of those brought forward few remained unsold. ActiA'e horses, suitable for farm work brought from £14 to £17, heavy draught colt £28, light harness £6 to £11, horse and harness £12 10/, draught entire £60, springcart £7 5/, horse rugs 12/ to 14/6 each were the prices obtained. On Tuesday hides, pitched in average number, kept last Aveek's values. Ox hides were from 3d to 4d, cows 2d to 3a, calfskins 3d to 32d lb, tallow 12/3 to 16/ cwt, fat Ud lb, fresh sheep pelts 2/4 to 3/10, dry skins 9d to 3/1 each. On Monday, at Pukekohe, a moderate muster of cattle were at late values, Cows at profit brought from £3 5/ to £5, fat cows £4 10/ to £4 15/, dry cows £1 5/ to £2 10/, fat steers £6 10/, calves 12/ to £1 each. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cattle, in usual numbers, were dull of sale. Those at profit were from £3 10/ to £5 17/6 each. Store cattle sold freely at full values. Fat young calves required. Young calves from 3/ to 6/, medium sized 10/ to 17/, heavy calves 24/ to 40/ each; 50 sold. Fat cattle in average supply, 216 sold; those of choice quality brought from IS/ to 20/, medium from 16/ 100 lb. Fat sheep in less supply than usual, were at late values. Wethers brought from 6/ to 15/9, ewes 8/ to 12/3, fat lambs 7/ to 10/, store lambs2/otos/ each,l2oo yarded. Pigs in short supply. 55 sold, mostly porkers, brought from 15/ to 33/ each. MESSRS BINNEY AND SONS' REPORT. On Tuesday we offered a very large catalogue of hides, skins, and tallow. Hides sold freely throughout. Picked ox up to K»d lb, extra stout 5d to s}d,stout 4Jd to 4id, medium Sifd to 4d, com and steer bulk sold 3|d, inferior hides are dull of sale. Sheepskins—Competition brisk, and good values obtained throughout. Picked sold up to 4/1 each, extras 3/6, good 2/9 to 3/ small 2/ to 2/3, pelts and broken from 6d' to 1/6. Tallow—Good medium, 14/6 to In/ cwt. Horns, Bones, and Hair—No change.
