THE TAVIUNI.
The s.s. Taviuni arrived at 6 a.m.- to-day from Sydney via the Islands. Mr J. .H. C. Bond, the purser, reports: The Taviuni left Sydney on 29th ult., on July 5 passed Hunter Island, sighted Mount Washington, Kadavu, 7th inst, and reached Suva the same day; on Bth inst. loaded suar at Laucala Bay and on the 9th left Suva; at Levuka the same day discharged cargo and transhipped horses to the Rotokino for Ba sugar mill, and left Levuka on Sunday, 10th inst., for Samoa; at 7 p.m. on July 11 signalled the Ovalau off Niuafou.and on July 13 anchored in Apia harbour. Here a stay was made for. two days and the voyage continued on the 14th. Vavau was reached on 16th, and left same day, Haapai roadstead toeing reached the same night. On Sunday proceeded on to Tonga and reached there on Monday, ana after taking in bananas, etc.,
the Tavuni left at 7 p.m.. for Auckland. On the voyage fresh easterly wind and sea were met with on clearing Sydney Heads, which gradually increased into a S E. gale with high sea until the 2nd July, thence to Fiji strong easterly winds and high seas From Fiji throughout the Islands N E. winds and moderate seas prevailed.
