THE GRATITUDE.

The ketch Gratitude arrived from the Bluff this morning. The master reports that the vessel left the Bluff on Tuesday June 2S, and made a quick run of 6 days to the East Cape. Here the vessel was driven off the land by strong westerly winds, and was 150 miles off when an easterly wind sprang up on Monday last at midnight. The wind carried the vessel to the land, which was sighted on Tuesday night, the land made being Whangarei. On Tuesday night a strong easterly wind prevailed, tremendous seas breaking inboard, tearing the tarpaulins and doing slight damage to the fittings. This weather lasted till yesterday morning at 1 a.m, when northerly winds were experienced, which carried the vessel to Tiritiri. Anchored off Tiri last nig-ht, the weather being too thick for the leading lights to be kept, and the vessel came into port this morning at 9 o'clock. Several sails were torn by the wind, but otherwise the vessel was little damaged. The Gratitude' berthed beside the Queen-street Wharf this afternoon, and will discharge her cargo on Monday next On discharge, she loads scrap iron and general cargo for Dunedin.
