The following was the result of The Grand National Steeplechase— a handicap sweepstake of 20sovs each, with lOOOsovs. added. About three miles and a furloug. .. Mr A. W. Beazley'sbg Floater, aged, by Skipper—Esmeralda, 12st 71b (T. Wallen) ... ' ••• 1 Messrs Mawbey and Little's br g Fernbank, syrs, by Postmaster—Guiccioli, lOst (F. Glason) ... ... 2 Messrs Humphrey and Jenkins' br g Euro, syrs, Tby kangaroo—lnchbonny, lOst 71b (Brooks) ... ... ... 3 Betting: 4to 1 against Pirate and Hayseed, 11 to 2 Floater, 7 to 1 Irish Stew, 8 to 1 Songster. Eleven horses started. Won easily by six lengths. Songster was fourth and Hayseed tilth. None of the others finished the course. Irish Stew fell. Time, 6min 54$ sec.
