THE EMPREZA.
The barque Empreza arrived this morning- from Surprise. Island, after a very rough passage. Captain Doug-las reports that the vessel left the island on. June 3 with a strong- easterly gale, which continued all the next day. Thence to the 14th light winds and calms prevailed. On Monday, June 14, the vessel met with a strong- E.S.E. gale With heavy confused sea. On Tuesday the wind lightened and came in from the east. On Wednesday another heavy gale sprang- up, lasting- till Friday, when the wind moderated. On Friday morning- at S o'clock the Three Kins won; sighted, and at G p.m. the vessel passed the North Cape. On Sunday at 3.30 p.m. Cape Brett was passed, and the barque arrived off Kawau at !) o'clock, coming into port this morning. The Empreza was berthed beside the railway wharf to discharge.
