'A' SECTION

Devon port v. YVeliesley-street.—The inateb was 'played at North Shore on a ground that the rain had literally converted into a mud-pool. Some of the Devonport boys, indeed, came attired in swimming costumes, ay, though prepared for an afternoons bathing, and most of them were minus boots and socks. The Devonport team won by 8 points to nil after a close game. Tries were scored by Willis and Wilkinson, the latter also kicking a goal from Willis' try. (irafton v. Parnell.—A draw, each side scoring three points. The try for Grafton was gained by Clodding, and for Parnell by Tomlinsou. Here's ford-street v. Newton East. — Beresford-street, won by three points to nil, a try being scored by M.tniro. Newton West v. lUt. Eden!—Mt. Eden had an. easy win to the tune of Hi points to nil. Three tries were scored by Greenwood, and one by Robinson, who also kicked two goals from tries. Ponsonby v. Napier-street.—Ponson-by won by default. 'P.' SBCTION. Richmond Road v. Wellcsley-street. —Richmond turned the tables on their opponents on Saturday. The last time these teams met the Wellesley-street boys won by 10 to G, but on Saturday Richmond had it all their own way, winning by 19 points to nil. McLcrid scored three tries, two of which be converted, and Hopkins scored twice. Onehung'a v. Napier-street.—Napier-street Forfeited the match to JOnelumga, although they had their team musterecl. Apparently they did not care to measure their strength against the Onehunga boys.
